Day 1
Start your trip with a visit to one of Milton’s amazing conservation areas. Whether you’re looking to hike, bike or rock climb, you’ll find stunning views and knockout nature at Hilton Falls, Mount Nemo, Rattlesnake Point and Kelso Conservation Areas.
TIPS: Those who live for the view will love the panoramic Niagara Escarpment views at Rattlesnake Point and Mount Nemo. Those who love chasing waterfalls won’t want to miss the 10-metre cascade at Hilton Falls. Those who prefer two wheels to feet will love discovering Kelso’s diverse trails.
After your hike, head to Ivy Arms in downtown Milton for lunch. This laidback, Irish-style restaurant offers delicious pub fare, a patio, and live music and karaoke in the evening hours.
Next head to Orange Snail Brewers for a craft brew lineup that will kick every beer lover’s taste buds into overdrive. Stay for a tour and tasting, and learn how the owners Kevin and Damion only work with local farmers to get the freshest hops, maple syrup, honey, pumpkins and spices for their brews. Sample their staples—a full flavoured pale ale, a rich amber ale and a heavily hopped IPA—all of which are titled to pay homage to Halton Region’s history. Seasonal specialties are also available, just ask what’s in!
Check in to your hotel after your tasting and relax before dinner. Some close by accommodation options include the Best Western Plus, Milton; Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Milton; and Home2 Suites by Hilton, Milton.
The Rad Brothers Sports Bar and Tap House offers an extensive list of local craft beer and premium beers on tap, as well as a diverse menu that will please even the pickiest eater in your crew. Enjoy musical entertainment on weekends, from live local bands and cover bands to salsa and oldies DJs.
Day 2
Grab breakfast at Louie’s Diner. It’s a local hotspot that offers all-day breakfast, so you don’t have to feel bad about sleeping in.
The Mattamy National Cycling Centre is a must-see when you are in the area. The velodrome was built for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games and features a 250-metre long, 7-metre wide timber track with 42-degree banked bends and 13-degree banked straights. It is the only facility of its kind in Canada and only the second that meets top international standards in North America. Take a tour of the amazing facility then join in the action with a “try it” session.
After building up a thirst, head north from Milton to taste the fruit wines of Andrews’ Winery. The fruit is grown right on the farm and includes award-winning strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, apple and currant wines. You can also enjoy your day on the farm with a picnic of local goodies from their Farmer’s Market. Explore the farm by picking produce or going on a wagon ride.
Keep heading north and explore the unique artisans in Glen Williams. Find that something special at the Williams Mill Gallery Gift Shop and Studios. And make sure you go into the Glen Williams Glass studio to witness how they make stunning glass pieces and select a memento from their extensive gift shop. Relax for dinner at the Copper Kettle Pub right next door in the picturesque town of Glen Williams.
Finish up your trip with some shopping at the Toronto Premium Outlets in nearby Halton Hills. You’ll find great deals on fabulous brands like Banana Republic, Bench, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Cole Haan, Hudson’s Bay Outlet, Hugo Boss, J.Crew, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Restoration Hardware and many more.
To extend your trip, consider adding a visit to another craft brewery on the Hamilton Halton Brant True Brew Path to your itinerary. Time your visit with one of our amazing festivals and events for an extra special stay.
