    Quatrefoil Restaurant, Burlington

It’s worth the trip for …. contemporary French cuisine in a sophisticated environment.

Since opening several years ago, Quatrefoil Restaurant has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best New Restaurants by enRoute Magazine, and a Top 10 Best New Restaurant by Toronto Life. Don’t let its small town location fool you. According to a review by James Chatto in Zoomer magazine, “This place would be as much of a star in downtown Toronto as it is in Dundas.”

If you’ve already enjoyed a dining experience at Quatrefoil, consider a meal at the team’s other restaurant, Brux House Craft Beer & Kitchen, in Hamilton. It has also generated amazing reviews from the neighbourhood and food critics alike. The restaurant focuses on craft beer and a European beer belt inspired menu with a rustic but elegant atmosphere.

    Hungry Hollow, Georgetown

It’s worth the trip for … Southern-inspired barbecue

Also recently featured on You Gotta Eat Here!, Hungry Hollow puts an incredible amount of time and care into their smoked meats. Prior to smoking, meats are dry rubbed with a spice mixture that is allowed to soak in for 12 hours prior to 14 hours of smoking. The owner brought back these tricks of the trade after living in Indiana where he was introduced to low and slow barbecue cooking.

Another delicious barbecue joint that’s also been given the You Gotta Eat Here! thumbs up is Memphis Fire Barbecue Company in Winona. The culinary team there prepares all its own meats, creates it stocks, sauces and dressings from scratch and 99.6% of the restaurant’s menu items are made entirely from raw products that come from local and national vendors. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights the restaurant serves up its signature Buttermilk Fried Chicken, which has created legions of raving fans.

Chef Andrea Legacey and her husband Brandon have brought a contemporary dining experience to Paris, with a comfortable and casual atmosphere, and a creative selection of dishes that only use top quality ingredients. Nightly specials such as Grilled Stuffed Jumbo Smelts, with fresh shaved fennel, apricots, green olives and a side of frites will have you saying, “Oui, Oui, Oui,” all the way home!
