Rotary Burlington-Lakeshore

Rotary Burlington Lakeshore has been making a meaningful difference in the Burlington community since May 1972, growing from a founding group of just 23 members to today’s dedicated team of 67 Rotarians who work together on impactful projects that improve countless lives. The club’s flagship fundraising event, Canada’s Largest Ribfest, takes place annually on Labour Day weekend in Spencer Smith Park and has enabled them to support vital organizations including Joseph Brant Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, Easter Seals, and many others over their 20+ year history of community service. Beyond their charitable work, Rotary Burlington Lakeshore demonstrates a strong commitment to youth development by annually awarding $64,000 through 10 academic awards, 4 sports awards, and 1 post-graduate award, while also supporting the Rotary RYLA leadership program and operating a Youth Exchange Program that sends local students abroad for transformative year-long experiences, embodying Rotary’s mission of service above self while creating lasting positive change in Burlington and beyond.
