The Anthropocene cottage was built in 1950 – the same year the new era is said to have started.

The cottage blends the beauty of its natural surroundings with modern luxuries, providing a memorable and comfortable stay in every season.

Where we invite hikers, researchers, musicians, international visitors, and city dwellers seeking a getaway to experience a true vacation. Established in 1950, the cottage blends the beauty of its natural surroundings with modern luxuries, providing a memorable and comfortable stay in every season.

With four bedrooms accommodating up to eight guests, our cottage also features a versatile couch that can accommodate a ninth adult or two children. The spacious layout includes multiple sitting areas, perfect for larger groups, and a dining space that can comfortably seat up to 14 people in the gazebo or the glass-enclosed dining room. Additionally, our property effortlessly caters to events with a capacity to entertain up to 100 people.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature with three fire pits – two nestled in the woods and one in the backyard, along with a chimera and fire bowl. Relax and appreciate the natural setting, either in proximity to the main house or in cozy forest enclaves surrounded by magnificent 80-foot trees and moss-covered rocks.

With convenient connections to the Bruce Trail system and Crawford Lake, you can directly access amazing hiking trails and explore the breathtaking lake from our property. Furthermore, five other conservation areas are just a short drive away, offering opportunities for mountain biking, rock climbing, swimming, kayaking, skiing (both downhill and cross-country), and even an animal recovery sanctuary where kids can get up close to raptors.

Anthropocene Cottage is located in the charming hamlet of Campbellville, ON. 4 mins off the 401 Hwy, 29 mins to Pearson Intl Airport,  Terminal 1; 45 mins to downtown Toronto;  1h15 to Niagara’s Canadian Falls; 5 min walk to Crawford Lake, nominated as the home of the “Golden Spike”.
