Adventure-filled run paddles through the deep valley running from the Village of Glen Morris to the Town of Paris and beyond. The route is calm water interspersed with mild swifts that add a little excitement. Leisurely paddling through scenic woodland, makes this a great trip. The beauty and diversity makes it appealing to even more experienced paddlers.
There are many spots to stop on your trip along the riverbank where you can stop for a picnic lunch &/or do some exploring in the Carolinian forest or on one of the small islands.
Notable sights on this route include the Spottiswood Bluff and the deep Grand River Valley’s Carolinian Forest. There are swift water sections on the route with just one brief class 1 rapid on the route (class 1 is the scales lowest rating). Other sights are Spring Island and the majestic ‘Three Sisters’, haunting 120-year old stone bridge pillars, remnants of the Early Railway Era, that was crucial to the formation of Canada. As your trip ends you paddle out the of Carolinian Forest into picturesque Paris on the Grand River.
As people step out of their boats, the first thing on their minds is, ‘When can we do it again” It’s an experience you won’t forget!
