Indigenous Edible Medicinal Hike

Route Length: 2 or 4 km

Duration: 1-2 hours or 2.5-4 hours

Available: April-October… you can choose your own start time

Adventure Description:

Because of time windows… we offer two hiking classrooms

1-2.5 hour learning experience.. where groups want a hike combined with a indigenous experience or have to leave early.

2.5-4 hour experience… a longer distance with more interaction. 

On the hiking classroom we introduce plants and trees used by the First Nations, discuss the edible-medicinal purposes and toolage. We also cover fish & wildlife of the valley used by Indigenous people, as well as native history.

Time permitting…along the way we incorporate challenges like… moose calling, fire by friction and a “cook the egg competition. 

The trip ends at an Attawandaron village site of the 1400’s… we discuss why this village location and everyone can get fresh water from the village springs.

Prices: (minimum price $240.00 per group)

1-2.5 hour learning experience.. where groups want a hike combined with a indigenous experience or have to leave early (hiking classroom $20 per person).

2.5-4 hour experience… a longer distance with more interaction. ($25 per person)
