A unique 2 day & 1 night fully outfitted guided canoe camping trip, experiencing scenic, historic sections of the Grand River, a great Canadian Heritage River.
Day 1: Launches from 150 year old Outfitter’s Post in historic Paris. Paddle past 1800’s riverside architecture and head downriver with with beautiful scenery, a little mild moving water and long calm stretches. Travel the River Valley through rare Carolinian forest, Canada’s most bio-diverse region with a wide range of flora & fauna normally found much further south.
Paddle Canada certified guides lead you along the river’s best channels, provide paddling tips, tell great stories & reveal sights normally missed. Osprey & Bald Eagles, natural Springs flowing into the river from 170 year old abandoned Gypsum mines. Along the way your guide leads a hike through Carolinian Forest on the Trail of the White Cedars to a scenic lookout over the Grand River Valley.
End of your first day’s journey land at your riverside campsite in Brant Park. We supply all the gear you need for a relaxing camping experience in 1 of South Ontario’s largest Conservation Areas.
Day 2: Launch from your campsite & journey further downriver on historic Mohawk Run. Paddle by Brant’s Crossing where Chief Joseph Brant’s Mohawks first settled along the Grand. Then past D’Aubigny Creek, site of a pivotal war of 1812 battle.
