Sip, Shop and Paddle in Brantford

  • Before you spend the afternoon paddling through Brantford, swing into The Blue Dog Café for a hot or cold brew and a freshly baked treat. Admire artwork from local artists that is displayed throughout the café and relax under the shade of the patio umbrellas for a delightful start to the day.
  • Take a short drive to Serenity Country Candles and shop the beautiful selection of unique gifts, décor, candles and soaps.
  • Travel to the nearby trail access point and take a walk along the Gordon Glaves Memorial Pathway, a peaceful 6km trail that offers tranquil views of the Grand River. Feel at peace while appreciating a variety of wildflowers and engage in some excellent birdwatching opportunities.
  • Visit the Brantford Visitor & Tourism Centre where you can gather information on Brantford’s public art, museums and galleries, food and drink options and shopping. Shop from a wide variety of merchandise and souvenirs and pick up a memento to commemorate your trip to Brantford or a unique gift for your loved ones.
  • Park at the Brant Conservation Area River Access Point, a free launch point that is located outside of the main gates, to enter the river on your canoe, kayak or raft. Enjoy the scenery as you travel through the city on the Grand River. River access points for exiting are located at Ballantyne Dr. River Access Point (3km) and Cockshutt Bridge River Access Point (10km), providing you with flexibility of a quick trip or a longer paddle for the afternoon.
  • After you dry off from your paddle, head to Fume RestoBar for an incredible meal on their outdoor patio.
