Brott Music Festival (BMF), home of the National Academy Orchestra, is one of four Hamilton Anchor Arts organizations and is Canada’s largest orchestral music festival. Now entering its 32nd season, the Brott Music Festival (est. 1988) is the largest non-profit orchestral music festival in Canada, and, the only festival with a full-time, professional orchestra-in-residence.
The Brott Music Festival is renowned for its extremely high artistic standard, world class soloists, its exuberant young orchestra and its eclectic mix of orchestral, chamber, jazz, pops, opera and education concerts at various venues across Southern Ontario.We have attracted world class soloists and other artists/personalities to Hamilton, including James Ehnes, Anton Kuerti, Pinchas Zukerman, Marc Garneau, Karen Kain, Valerie Tryon, former Prime Minister Kim Campbell, Mordecai Richler, Roberta Bondar and Michael Ondaatje, to name only a few.
BMF, which includes BrottOpera, has a series of 35-40 concerts throughout the year, operating primarily within Hamilton and its environments.
