Spend the day and enjoy a rural experience. Listed as a Top 100 Festival in Ontario (2 years) and a Marquee Event within the County of Brant, St. George AppleFest is an affordable family outing. There is everything apple - homemade pies, fresh apples of many varieties, apple dumplings, apple cider, candied apples.

The pungent aroma of crisp, ripe apples from local orchards is in sharp contrast to the sweetness of kettle corn, candied apples and apple dumplings topped with hot caramel sauce. Savour samples of treats as you meander among the vendors. Local eateries provide a variety - Italian, British pub fare, High Tea, fresh roasted coffee & apple fritters.

Over 120 vendors display crafts from near and far that produce a kaleidoscope of colour as you roam the streets and parks. Local farm markets display an array of fresh produce and delicious preserves. Check out our local retail stores for unique gifts and decor.

Children's laughter mingles with the strains of fiddle music from the Main Stage where on-going daily entertainment delights the crowds. Savour ice cold beer or a glass of Niagara wine in our adjoining fully licensed Spirit Garden. Satruday night enjoy an old-fashioned FREE Street Party.

Children of all ages enjoy the spectacular petting zoo. Inflatable activities, apple-on-a-string game and pony rides are children's favourites.

Coaches are welcome. FREE admission. FREE parking. FREE shuttle. Accessible parking

Diary w/o Dates is a solo exhibition of new work by Allison Katz displayed across both Oakville Galleries venues. Reflecting the diverse range of Katz's production, the exhibition considers the unique character of each site. At Centennial Square, Katz responds to the soft Brutalism of late 1960s civic architecture and the theatrical black-box design of the gallery with a large-scale installation of new paintings "in the round." At Gairloch Gardens, Katz presents several new works—including posters, ceramics and a sand painting—that play on elements of circulation and repetition inherent to both her own process and the architecture of this former private residence on the shores of Lake Ontario.

Acclaimed Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky brings environmental issues to our attention through awe-inspiring and often abstract images that document industrial sites. The photographs are a reflection of our times, and show the complex effects that global manufacturing, and the demands of first world consumers have on the planet. From aerial views of oil fields in Nigeria, to salt pans in India, to Italian Carrara marble quarries and nickel tailings in Sudbury, his stunning large-format photographs made over the past three decades bear sublime witness to the reality of current environmental issues. This exhibition celebrates a recent gift of 76 photographs donated by the artist to the AGH; the largest donation he has made to a museum.

Edward Burtynsky’s distinctions include the TED Prize and the Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts. In 2006 he was awarded Officer of the Order of Canada and currently holds seven honorary doctorate degrees. Burtynsky lives and works in Toronto and is represented by Nicholas Metivier Gallery in Toronto.

Included in ticketed admission to exhibitions on Gallery Level One:

Adults $10
Students/Seniors $8
Children (6-17) $4
Under 5 Free
Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) $25

Gallery Hours:

Wednesday 11 am – 6 pm
Thursday 11 am – 8 pm
Friday 11 am – 6 pm
Saturday 12 pm – 5 pm
Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm
