Introductory Outdoor Rock Climbing Lessons

Pre-requisites: Being able to walk up a flight of stairs independently. Duration: 6.5 hours in one day, typically 9:30am - 4pm (4.5 hours when only one participant shows up and it becomes a private session; 5.5 hours when only two participants show up and it becomes a semi-private session). Half Day Option: 4 hours, typically 9:30am - 1:30pm, occasionally 1:30pm - 5:30pm. All participants are required to read, understand and sign this waiver of liability. Those under the age of 18 years must have a parent or legal guardian co-sign their waiver. Those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age to climb is 6.

Traditional Lead Climbing

Pre-course Prep: You are encouraged to learn to tie the following knots and hitches before coming to the course: figure 8 knot, figure 8 on a bite, overhand knot, overhand on a bite, water knot, bowline knot, clove hitch, double fisherman's knot, prusik hitch and overhand slip knot. Read books/articles and watch videos on trad climbing as much as you can. Duration: 16-18 hours in 2 days (12 - 14 hours when only one participant shows up and it becomes a private session for this person).

Top Rope Anchor Setting for Gym Climbers

Pre-requisites: Gym rock climbing experience. Outdoor climbing experience is a plus. Pre-course Prep: We will send you links to a series of video clips to help you prepare for this course. You will need to learn to tie the following knots and hitches before coming to the course: figure 8 knot, figure 8 on a bite, overhand knot, overhand on a bite, water knot, bowline knot, clove hitch, double fisherman's knot, prusik hitch and overhand slip knot. This way, you won't be wasting time on repeatedly learning how to tie these knots during the course. Instead, you will be able to focus on how to use these knots for anchor setting. (Near the end of the course, while under-prepared participants may feel a bit information overload since a brain can only work so hard for so many hours, adequately prepared participants may still have the mental capacity to learn add-on rappelling techniques.) Duration: 8 hours or more in 1 day (6 or 7 hours or more when only 1 or 2 participants show up and it becomes a private or semi-private session). Post-course Review: You will have access to a series video clips to review key lessons of the course for a limited time period. This helps you consolidate your learning, so you can feel even more confident to return to the cliff to set up top rope anchors independently for the first time!

Big Creek Tubing

How It Works: We have you park at the end point, then shuttle you 9 km upstream to the start, you paddle downstream, with a short 3 km ride back to your vehicle.

Parking & Meetup Area: At the corner of Lakeshore Rd and Hwy 59… on the left right after you cross over Lakeshore Road. DO NOT drive into Long Point…you have gone too far. RESERVATION REQUIRED

Garden Explorers Program

Programs run June through September (weather permitting). Programs are age and ability appropriate. Programs last 1.5 hours in length, and run twice a day in morning (10am to 11:30am) and afternoon (12:00pm to 1:30pm). The number of participants in a group can range from 20 to 29 individuals. At 30 or more we will split the group into two or more groups. We can accommodate up to 3 groups at a time. For special needs groups we recommend a maximum group size of 12.

Paris to Brant Park Trip

The Paris to Brant Park trip is 13 km long (8 miles). We do not recommend turbo tubing this route with seniors or children because the last mile of the trip requires paddling.
